Born in New York, Michael Almonacy began playing basketball in the eighth grade and quickly emerged as a standout athlete. As a team captain during his school years, he earned First Team All-Long Island honors three times and was named All-State twice. His teams won five league championships, two Long Island championships, two Small Schools district championships, reached the state finals, and captured an AA Championship.
Michael’s accomplishments earned him NCAA Division I opportunities, including a scholarship offer from Stony Brook University, before continuing his collegiate career at Appalachian State University. He later played professionally for Club CAB Madeira in Portugal’s First Division.
Drawing on his experience at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels, Michael is dedicated to helping athletes develop their basketball skills, basketball IQ, confidence, and leadership both on and off the court.
